Onboarding and subscriptions
What is included in a 4construct subscription?
Every plan includes unlimited site and project management, subcontractor management, cost-centre budgets, a daily progress journal, a documents and permits archive, and automatic client reports — no separately-priced add-ons.
Can I switch plans at any time?
Yes. Upgrade or downgrade any time from your account, with the invoice adjusted pro-rata for the remainder of your current billing period.
Can I manage multiple companies or business units from one account?
Yes. Manage multiple companies from the same account, each with its own sites, teams and billing, with no requirement for separate subscriptions.
What payment methods do you support?
Card (Visa, Mastercard) or bank transfer against a pro-forma invoice. Monthly or annual billing, with a discount on annual plans.
Can I cancel my subscription at any time?
Yes, no minimum term. Your project data stays exportable for 30 days after cancellation.
Sites and projects
How many sites can I manage at once?
No limit on active projects on any plan. Every site has its own stage plan, team, budget and journal, viewable separately or rolled up into one dashboard.
How do I break a site down into execution stages?
Define stages (foundation, structure, utilities, finishing) with deadlines and owners per stage. Dependencies between stages are visible on a single timeline.
How do I find out which site is at risk of delay?
The dashboard automatically highlights stages that exceed their planned deadline, based on updates from the daily progress journal, and alerts the project owner.
Does the field crew need a separate app?
No. The site journal, work statements and progress photos are filled in straight from a phone or tablet browser, even offline.
Subcontractors
How do I add a new subcontractor?
Enter their contract details once — contact, specialty, rate — and assign them directly to the relevant stages of active projects.
Are work statements generated automatically?
Yes, from stages confirmed in the site journal, ready for validation and payment, with no manual entry.
Can I see my collaboration history with a subcontractor?
Yes. Every profile keeps past projects, deadlines met and any delays — useful when selecting subcontractors for future sites.
Can I migrate from an existing spreadsheet or paper trail?
Yes. We import your subcontractor data and active projects from an Excel file, and a solution engineer helps with setup.
Budgets and costs
How do I track a project budget by cost centre?
Break the budget down by labour, materials, subcontractors and equipment, tracked separately for each, with a real-time spent-vs-budgeted comparison.
Do I get an alert if a project goes over budget?
Yes. Set an alert threshold per cost centre or stage, and the system automatically notifies the owner before it is exceeded.
Can the budget be adjusted while the site is running?
Yes, with a full change history — useful when extra work or client-requested changes come up.
Documents, permits and security
What documents can I archive for a project?
Building permits, approvals, handover reports, drawings and contracts — all attached directly to the project, searchable and exportable.
Do I get an alert before a permit expires?
Yes. An automatic notification goes out well ahead of the expiry date to the project owner, so work never stalls.
Where is my company’s data hosted?
On our own EU infrastructure, GDPR by default, with daily backups and encryption at rest.
Is there a referral programme for other construction companies?
